Ryan Preece will take over one of NASCAR’s most iconic rides in 2027, driving RFK Racing’s No. 6 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in the NASCAR Cup Series. Preece will replace Brad Keselowski, who has driven the car since joining the organization in 2022.

The No. 6 has been a cornerstone of the organization since Jack Roush entered NASCAR’s premier series in 1988 with driver Mark Martin. Martin won 35 Cup Series races in the car during his tenure from 1988-2006, helping establish it as one of the sport’s most recognizable entries. Preece, who has driven RFK’s No. 60 for the past two seasons, will become the sixth full-time driver of the No. 6.

Preece joined RFK Racing in 2025 and has enjoyed a career-best stretch, highlighted by a victory in the 2026 Cook Out Clash and his first career Cup Series points-paying win at Daytona International Speedway in August. The victory also secured his place in the NASCAR Chase.

Before reaching NASCAR’s national series, Preece built his reputation in the Northeast Modified ranks, where he also drove a No. 6 car for longtime supporter and car owner Ed Partridge.

Preece will retain his current team and personnel, led by crew chief Derrick Finley, with the No. 6 competing as a chartered entry in 2027.

RFK Racing said additional details about the future of its No. 60 entry will be announced later.
